Consider your natural hair length

  • Shorter Hair (above shoulders): Go for 18” for a natural blend. Anything longer may look unnatural unless heavily layered.
  • Medium-Length Hair (shoulder to mid-back): You can comfortably go for 18”–22” depending on your desired fullness and length.
  • Think About Style Goals: Natural look everyday / 18". More glamours & voluminous 22"

Choosing the right hair extension colour

Match the Ends, Not the Roots

  • Extensions blend with your mid-lengths to ends, so always match those — not your roots.
  • This is especially important if you have balayage or ombré hair.
  • Stand near a window in daylight (not direct sunlight).
  • Take a photo of your hair from the back or ends.
  • This gives the most accurate representation of your hair tone.

Know Your Hair’s Undertone

  • Cool: Ashy, silver, beige, platinum tones.
  • Neutral: Balanced, not overly warm or cool.
  • Warm: Golden, honey, caramel, red, chestnut hues.

Care & Styling FAQs

How often should I wash my clip-in extensions?

Only wash your clip-ins when they feel heavy with product or visibly dirty—usually every 10–15 wears. Over-washing can shorten their lifespan.

What’s the best way to wash hair extensions?

  1. Gently detangle using a wide-tooth comb or extension brush.
  2. Fill a sink with lukewarm water and mix in a sulphate-free shampoo.
  3. Hold the weft at the top and gently work the shampoo down the hair—never scrub or twist.
  4. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a deep conditioner for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Rinse again, then blot dry with a towel—never wring or rub.

Should I air dry or blow dry my extensions?

Air drying is always best to preserve the hair. Lay the extensions flat on a towel or hang them to dry. If using a blow dryer, apply heat protectant and use a low heat setting.

How do I brush my extensions properly?

Use a wide-tooth comb, loop brush, or boar bristle brush. Always brush before and after wearing them:

  • Start at the ends and work your way up.
  • Hold the weft firmly near the clip to avoid pulling or loosening the hair.

Can I use heat tools on 1010 Extensions?

Yes—our virgin human hair extensions can be curled, straightened, and styled with heat. Always use a heat protectant and keep temperatures under 180°C (350°F) to prevent damage.

Can I dye or tone my extensions?

You can dye them, but we recommend this be done by a professional. Avoid bleaching, as it may damage the hair. Opt for toning or darkening if needed.

How should I store my extensions when not in use?

Make sure they’re 100% dry, then store them in the original box, a silk storage bag, or on a hanger to keep them tangle-free and in top condition.
